    Our Services - helping the homeless


    Women and Children's Shelter
    Family Apartments
    Clients spend up to 30 days in these emergency shelters. Clothing, personal hygiene items, telephone, counseling and referral to agencies are provided. As many as 6,500 shelter nights in a year are provided, 70% of them are for children. Find out how you can adopt a room at the center and make a difference.

    Drop-in-Center
    In a year, nearly 7,000 clients will use these services. They include showers (the only public showers in south Pinellas), clothing, food, bus tokens and referrals to other agencies. Clients also use ASAP as a phone number and mailing address for employment and benefit purposes.

    Who are the Homeless?
    ~ The fastest growing segment of the homeless population is families with children.
    ~ Of our nation's population, it is estimated that nearly 6% of adults have been homeless at some time of their lives.
    ~ About 66% of the homeless population are veterans.
    ~ In Pinellas County, as many as 1,600 persons may seek shelter NIGHTLY.
    ~ 24% of the County's homeless are children under the age of 18, and more than half of these are un-accompanied youth.
    ~ 44% of homeless adults have jobs.
